用法筆記
The gross ton (also called the long ton) is primarily used in the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries for heavy bulk commodities. It differs from the short ton (2,000 lb / 907 kg, used in the United States) and the metric tonne (1,000 kg, used internationally). Do not confuse gross ton (a weight unit) with gross tonnage, which is a volumetric measurement of a ship's enclosed internal space.
