用法筆記

Went is the irregular past-tense form of go. Unlike regular verbs, which add -ed (e.g. walk → walked), the word went comes from a completely different root (the Old English word wendan). This is called a suppletive pattern — the past tense uses a word that does not look like the base verb at all.

常見錯誤

I have went to the store.
I have gone to the store.
💡Use gone, not went, after have/has/had to form the present perfect or past perfect tense.
She goed to the park yesterday.
She went to the park yesterday.
💡Go is irregular; its past form is went, not goed.
